You might want to search "triple antibiotic ointment, tattoo, dangers"
as well.
Hmm. That wasn't much better. I changed my search string to "triple
antibiotic ointment and tattoos" which was nearly identical to yours
anyway and eventually spotted:
"Some people have been known to develop an allergy to Bacitracin,
Triple antibiotic and other ointments may contain it. We do not
recommend it. Nor do we recommend plain Vaseline. Lotions are safest in
warm weather. Keeping it moist will speed the healing process, but your
tattoo needs to breathe. Heavy application of petroleum based ointments
can suffocate the tattoo and cause a rash." From:

I'd go with the anecdotal yadayada myself and avoid the goop. I do
recall, however, using a dot or so of A&D on my Calvin and Hobbes. My
leg didn't fall off. ;o) Otoh, A&D's something that risingdragon.com's
link recommends.

Now, THERE's a sound effect I never read.
(Googles)
Oh. Never mind.
