Terrible for the girl, obviously, but infections happen. Relatively
recently, a local boy lost his feet, one hand, and most of his other
hand after a fight with staph infection. Doctors couldn't pinpoint
specifically where the boy encountered the infection, however it may
have been something as simple as a scrape during a baseball game.

Google staph infection, lost limbs and see what you see. Bad news. The
girl is lucky it was "only" a breast.
