Hello all,
I got my tattoo 12 days ago now. Picture of a koi with water running through it on my outer leg between my knee and ankle. Very nice detail too, I am happy with it except for one thing. After living with it for the past 12 days there is one part of the tattoo that I would prefer getting shaded in more. A piece of one of the fins has no ink there as it represents the splash of water going through it...my hubby and I think it would look better if the fin was coloured in. How long do I have to wait before going back to the tattoo artist to have this done? Also I know that the itching flaking part is normal healing. My tattoo is now starting to do a bit of flaking. I am concerned that when I apply the Lubriderm moisutre lotion some pieces of "colour" is flaking off although not coming off of the tattoo itself...normal?? It is a bit shiny also.... Thanks in advance bobbi |

Congrats on your new tattoo.
Your artist will be the best judge as to how long to wait before revisiting your new ink just try to be patient going back in to soon can create scarring and other issues you dont want. Shiny new skin is cool and normal but is a sign the skin is still to new to be tattooed on again without causing possible trouble of course this is only my opinion but many I've met agree. The color coming out of the area is a combination of skin , pigment, and even some of the lubricant that was used during the application of your tattoo coming out of your pores this is also normal just DONT PICK AT IT . If it is really scaly try gently pressing a warm wet wash cloth against your skin in the shower and drawing it down across the tattoo it will help remove the debris and clean the area. I am NOT saying SCRUB the new tattoo I am saying a gentle warm wet press has been helpful to me personally and I have used this technique to heal some pretty extensive work. Good luck and hope you get a chance to post some pics we would love to see em. B |
