Default size of the canvas

hi guys,
im new here but need some advise im 21 and 5 foot 6 tall im not the biggest of people lol but im interested in gettin my shoulder/bicep area of my arm tattooed. would the size of my arm determine or restrict the tattoo i cud get? i know i probably sound stupid to you guys but i need help lol

hey dude , my suggestion is to look at the shape of your arm overall in a mirror for instance long and thin short and wide etc, then try to find a piece of art that compiments your body shape giving you your desired effect ie: tough, striking, cartton , taraditional etc also consider how the tatt you are planning now will blend into additional work you may want to get in the future.

Nothing stupid about your question
When I had my full back done it took me a few months to draw it up and because it is all pretty much a woodlands scene my artist was really good about explaining to me that certain birds etc should be certain size otherwise they don't look right and I reckon he did a bloody good job and like bluntmonkey said you need to think about the blending in with whatever you may want to add in the furture
