Default Suggestions to finish arm tattoo

Hey

I recently had a tattoo designed for me. I had found the central image I was after, which is a Kapote Indian symbol. The tattoo artist then designed some tribal art around it.

The Indian symbol is 'man in the maze' and has been mostly completed and the outlines of the tribal have been completed. 5 hours in one sitting was interesting (image will be below)

The original plan was to color the tribal in all black, but I am thinking now that it will take away from the man in the maze image. So was thinking of adding in some colours to surround the central image - maybe red and oranges blended maybe.

Was hoping other people would have some ideas that they think will look good and complement the man in the maze image. or do you think all black wil be ok with this design? Open for any suggestions you have, or images of other tattoos that have blended colours etc

thank you for your time and input

additional images can be seen, if needed, at :

Hey Steve,
Have a look at the pics of my back in my gallery and see what you think My colours are based around the sky, blue, orange, red, purple. I really like the way they make the koru/tribal pattern stand out.
Cheers,
Dileca

cool! that looks really good Dileca!

I do like the blending of the colours, blue to purple etc. Your back piece is amazing. Having the Kiwi there for a Kiwi is a very nice touch

Are the southern cross tattoos popular in NZ at the moment? There seem to be a heap around in AU and saw heaps at the Big Day Out on the Gold Coast. I like the idea of the Southern Cross but has become too popular now.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will see what I can come up with.

Cheers

Hey check this pic you could do some wicked shit with that outline with the right artist, also check theres a million options and opinions I thought you could possibly incorporate some of the biomech style into your piece if you were so inclined Good luck and What happened to the guy who started the piece? the maze black work is tight and solid its a shame he wont get to finish it B

Thanks Bluntmonkey

nice! I really like that art work and will definitely get some color and shading work done.

I am continuing to use the same artist who did the maze and outline, as he does seem very good. the maze and outlines were the first session and I will go back to get it finished. the original idea was just to do all black, but now that I see it on, I want to get some color in there.

I really wasnt sure how well the maze would work as a tattoo, as to me, it would seem very hard to get it all symmetrical on the body, but he has done an excellent job. as a result of how good the maze looks, i dont want the art around it to "take away" from the central maze image -so now looking into colours and shading effects.

thanks for your suggestions. will keep you posted on how it goes

cheers

-Steve
