OK, I am scheduled to get my first tattoo tomorrow. Thanks to a number of you for the ideas. What I am wondering is how much someone should tip the artist. The tattoo I am getting is going to cost around $400. So what I am looking for is what you think would be a good tip, average tip, and a POS tip.

ive got about 200 bucks worth of ink right now and im putting in another 500 in about a month. i always go to the same guy, because i am fuzing the designs together to create 1 big one and so having it done by the same person makes it easyer because it is all his work he has to work with.
im going to tip him 50 bucks after my last session from the 500 dollor tat. from wat i kno artists do not expect a tip and might be even more pleased at an excited and happy face rather then some extra bucks. |

I've personally been to privately owned shops and those where the Artist works for someone else......In the case where the Artist owns the shop I haven't "Tipped"....If in the other, the Tip is just a little "Thanks Dude" that the Artist can shove right in their Pocket! I've given about 10% in those cases. Jus my .02 not that you have to....
