my lobes are changing

as i'm getting older, i'm finding that it feels like my lobes
should be bigger. this seems to be in direct contrast to what is usually
said - ie "i'm getting older, it's time to sew up these giant ugly holes
in my ears." regardless, this is how i feel, & so after seven years at
1/2", i've made the decision to take my lobes up to 3/4".

i actually had thought 5/8" when i was thinking i should go
larger, but in jewelry shopping the other day, the 5/8" stand-alone just
isn't as attractive a size to me as 3/4". so, 3/4" it is. among some other
pieces, yesterday i bought this amazing pair of 3/4" organic plugs which
have actual pieces of butterfly wing in them. fucking gorgeous.

the 9/16" just slipped in on their own, but i still want to move
the right plug a bit so it doesn't stretch unevenly, so i'm cutting that
one to 5/8" tonight, & stretching the other over the next couple of weeks.

if anyone at 1/2" wants to buy/trade for my old (& many awesome)
1/2" plugs, let me know. i'll have a photo post up about it on lj
