haha. i prefer freehanded piercings too, but i'm okay with clamps
in certain situations. clicking the clamps shut is more of an indicator of
idiocy to me than their use at all.

kavin's a bit particular about this, too. i agree for preference
that curved Ti is better, but rings & steel are okay if you know your
body.

which, stephanie, you don't. so kavin's right. :D

Needle. And what looked like pliers or forceps or something to put the ball
in after the piercing was done. The ring has a little ball in it. And
honest, if ball is not the right word, go ahead and shoot me.

Clamp for what?

Oh my, someone capable of accepting our opinions/advice without
bitching.

You're a weird troll, aren't you?

You think I am a troll. Ok. Well man I had thought to consider your advice.
But if to do so was as unwise as to be weird and trollish, then perhaps not.
This is fine with me as your advice was rather different than the other info
Ihad gotten. So I am glad to have you discredit yourself.

Again. Thank you.

Lighten up, bitch. Mine was a joke.

And no, my advice wasn't 'rather' different. lish agreed with most of
it -- or at least understands why I feel the way I do about things.

I would tell you why a ring is not a good idea, but now I want you to
feel the potential pain.

Kavin

And by the way, clean your piercing twice a day with anti-bacterial
soap. Rotate the jewelry through the piercing at the same time to
allow the soap to penetrate. Rinse with water. Soak in saline for
five minutes. Dry. Apply antibiotic ointment.

During the day rotate you jewelry as much as possible.

Sorry for the snit. Anyway, I DO appreciate the advice. It makes a lot of
sense, and I can guess the physics of why a ring is not the best idea. Since
I got the info I wanted, I will be on my merry way before I get called bitch
anymore. I prefer cunt. :)

I do feel bad that you had to wish me the equivalent of bodily harm because
I did not get your off color joke.

In light of our misunderstanding, maybe you will entertain this one last
question. Would you recommend that I find a GOOD shop and get my ring
replaced? Or do you recommend that I consider it a bad mistake not worth
making worse and follow tish's plan otherwise?

Thanks.

I believe if you use implant grade materials (Ti, platinum , glass)
your piercer uses a sterile procedure, you keep your hands (and
other's hands) off it, things will probably go smoothly. Should.
Your body may just decide it doesn't want the jewelry and will reject
it. But your body knows how to heal itself.

I prefer a curved bar for healing because it tends not to move
crusties in and out of the healing piercing. Titanium is lighter so
you don't have as much weight as you would with SS.

Your decision.

Kavin

changing jewelry in an unhealed piercing is worse than fitting it
with a Ti curve. if it doesn't show signs of metal allergy (see my text
for specifics), you should leave it alone at this point.
