Hi:
I hope some more experienced people can give me some advice. I'm looking to get a (Canadian) maple leaf tattoo; it's my first (and likely my only) tattoo. I have two questions -- where and in what orientation? I'd like to get it somewhere more visible than my chest or shoulder -- but not, say, neck or face. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe forearm or wrist. But if I get it there, in what orientation should the leaf be? Since it is a national symbol, like a flag, I don't want it to be upside- down most of the time, or to be obviously upsidedown when I'm waving at someone. So do I put it sideways? - Jonathan -- Jonathan Dursi ljdursi@gmail.com |

So do I put it sideways? And it would be right side up when? Have the orientation right side up wherever you put it. Kavin |

If the orientation is the only thing you are interested in, then either put it on a body part that will ALWAYS be right side up, or if you want it to be on your arm, always orient your arm so the tattoo is always right side up. It's that easy. Argue no further. Kavin |

Stem down, that is, so it's pointing towards the wrist. If it's on your torso or legs, then stem pointing towards your feet. That's how all the athletes wear them, and it makes the most sense. I wouldn't put it any other way if it was a stylised leaf (like what's on the flag). If you're going for a real leaf, then you have more latitude, but I'd still use that orientation as a general rule. nj"and get it before the end of the month"m -- "I do not rhyme to that dull elf Who cannot imagine to himself..." |
