Hi
I've had my nipple pierced for 18 months and thankfully it's healed well. After starting at a 12mm barbell, it had to be changed out to a 16mm during the healing as it seemed to grow. We've tried a sheild and found they are fun for a while, but painful to wear for the longer term. Wanting a change from the barbell I've bought a 1.6 stainless steel ring, which was no problem to change and moves freely. Two days on though and it's quite painful in both the piercing and breast, although not continually. I have sea salted it, and I'm loathe to change it back to a barbell at the moment. Any ideas at all? Cheers Suz |

Chances are it's too small, and that's putting strain on the piercing (you're bending the canal that was straight before). No more than 25% of the ring should be inside the piercing canal, so the diameter you'd need is somewhere around 20-22 mm. And yes, 14 ga/1.6 mm is too thin especially if you want to play with the piercing. The quality of the jewelry could be an issue as well. > Two days on though and it's quite painful in both the piercing and > breast, although not continually. And get the other nipple pierced too, unless you like being lopsided :P Nina -- C'est les microbes qui auront le dernier mot. Louis Pasteur http://www.chaotropic.net |
