I've lost a lot of weight and I had in mind to get a navel piercing when
I reached my half way point, which will be soon. Once I reach that weight, I'll have another 75 pounds to lose to reach goal. My question is - should I get the piercing at my half way point or wait till I reach goal. I'd really like to get it in a few weeks, but I'm also concerned that once I lose the rest of the weight, it won't look right because my body will change. Will that affect the piercing? Thanks! |

What will affect the piercing is how well you heal. Did you have gastric-bypass surgery? If yes, I'd say wait until you've at least passed the year mark from surgery. Are you diabetic? Healing can be a problem then. How strict is your diet? Are you getting enough nutrients to heal properly in the first place. And honestly, if you still have a large stomach, I wouldn't do it. Mechanical pressure could be a problem. If this is your first piercing, wait until your body isn't battling other problems. Kavin |

I'm following a very well balanced meal plan of proteins, veggies and fruits. I just gave up all the junk. > And honestly, if you still have a large stomach, I wouldn't do it. > Mechanical pressure could be a problem. > > If this is your first piercing, wait until your body isn't battling > other problems. No, it's not. It's just something I've always wanted and never did :) Carole |

Don't listen to Curt. Ever. What's the worst that could happen? That's a response? Again, make everything the best it can be. And Curt is never, NEVER, the best. Kavin |

I figure my navel is my navel...it's never changed in size when I've lost weight before. Of course, I could just get another genital piercing :-) Carole |

Apparently the best at getting you to avoid direct confrontation? You don't have the spine of some, obviously, who completely ignore me, yet apparently find it necessary to "listen to Curt." What was it you just wrote? Oh, it's right there. "Ever." Riiiight. Keep reading, Kavvy. Hth, right? ;o) -- Curt |

You're losing 150 lbs. now. I'd say whether or not to get a piercing is the least of your problems. I'll give you a suggestion your "friends" won't. Keep the weight off for a year and then get the piercing as a reward. Kavin |
