Default tattooing over scarring?

I did a tattoo myself some 25 years ago, just an outline of a heart. I'd
like to get it redone, but it has some scarring. Can that be inked over
okay?

Your best bet is to contact a qualified tattoo artist and have him or
her assess the situation in person. No one here can give you a good
answer without seeing it. Post a link to a photo if you have one.

Agreed.

Bullshit. Lish could give the OP a "good" answer without seeing it.
She has in the past:

No doubt.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Perhaps you could do a search on that subject here in RAB and read all
the posts to this oft-asked question.

And then maybe, just maybe, you could talk to an actual tattoo-artist,
in person (though several would be better). Call me crazy, but
sometimes talking to a person face to face is better than believing
what you see on the Internet.

I just thought, based on someones experience, that they might know if
scarring takes on ink. It is minimal scarring from the bad tattoo job. I
plan on going in to see an artist end of the month. But didn't think it
would hurt to inquire here. Sorry.

I'm sorry. I didn't know it was YOU. I mean really. Every other
person who came here and asked the same question -- well, they were
not important. But you. No, no, no. I should have realized that
your asking the same question was somehow, different. You ARE so
important. How dare I suggest you could research a tired, crusty
question like yours first? Who DID I think I was? We should give you
everything you ask for simply because you draw breath.

You're pretty pathetic, Kavin. You seem to be one of thoooose people.
You know the type? I suspect you don't. Unconscious incompetence in a
way, I guess. You're so messed up you don't realize you're messed up.
Afraid that someone will get ahead of you. Worried that things are
fair and that others don't get something that you're not ever going to
get.

Completely, undeniably, totally *glass is half empty* personality.
Sad.

And, yes, good luck with that.
