Spike ends on barbells

So, I'm doing some Christmas shopping, and I know the Best Beloved has
a yen for something like these:

for short barbells in or about lobes.

Has anyone tried these in their ears? Are they spiky and annoying at
night?

I am sure whatever you buy your Best Beloved will be cherished and
loved for years to come. Although I have never tried the specified
spikes, the fact they are bought with love will be enough to make sure
the piercing gods find them suitable and appropriate.

Plus, you are a super-intelligent person and whatever you choose to do
is, by default, correct.
