Default 14g tragus

dermal punch or needle?

i don't know when i'll get around to doing this, but it's been consuming
my mind lately and i'd like to get some opinions on the method.

my experience with my daiths seems to indicate that, for me, healing
cartilage requires diligence and probably titanium jewelry - i'm
thinking 14g 1/4" ti labret studs are going to be my best bet.

so, if some of you smarty people wouldn't mind giving me an opinion:
which is likely to give me the cleanest result and the best chance of
healing without excessive trauma?

good. i already know my piercer is skilled with a punch.

okay, so talk to me about what i might expect if for some reason i'm
unable to keep the piercings. i doubt that will happen, but i have to
consider the possibility.

could i expect them to reasonably close up? is 14g small enough for
that not to be a problem? i know my lobes don't shrink even a full size
if i leave jewelry out for a couple of days at a time.

i can't tell if you're mocking the size or saying it's silly to
dermal punch in 14ga, but bmeshop sells 2mm dermal punches & i had great
success doing the lower half of my orbital with one.

Kindof both. It just doesn't seem that 14 gauge is worth the effort.
But, I do know cartilage is a bitch anyway. Or maybe I'm just being
old school.

Punching is not more of an effort than piercing with a needle. It's
still worth it though.

it's DEFINITELY worth it. i've found a SEVERE difference between a
cartilage dermal punch & a cartilage needle, even at 14ga.

but as nina said, there's really no more effort in using one tool
over the other. the only bother may be if you're DIY & have to order a
punch. they're still not as readily accessible as needles.

i didn't mean "what will happen to *me*" i just wondered in a general
sense. i know you can't tell me how my body will react; i didn't think
that needed to be said. you have a lot more experience than i do, so i
was just looking for your opinion as a general overview.

i haven't done much research on bme yet because i know there will be a
lot of sorting through shoddily written experiences that don't really
tell me a lot. rab was my first stop.
