Be honest, was it just me, or is it people who seek advice on topics they don't know much about in general that bother you? LOL. BTW, stop partially quoting me. I don't really care what people think ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT I __GET__ A TATTOO. I'm seeking suggestions for the content of my tattoo. if you have a thought regarding that, I'd welcome it. I have a great idea for a tattoo now. "KavinTaylor@gmail.com" in a REALLY COOL font, tattood on my ass. Do you like Helvetica or Ariel? LOL |

How does the sentence: "I've always been interested in getting one, and at my age (38), I feel like I don't really care what others think, if I want one, I should get it. Well, technically, I said "important" not "significant" 8-) (semantics are important, yes I'm baiting you). Clearly, you don't like the name idea. I'm looking for suggestions that others have seen/thought of to do a tattoo honoring a daughter (with the caveats in my original post). LOL. You nailed me there. "You should examine your thought process. It's just a tattoo. Why turn it into something more than that?" would've sunk in better, but been less fun. > > And if you've REALLY researched, you'll see my advice is sound. to your credit, after having a lot of fun with you, your advice is sound. > > Kavin |

I seem to remember reading a few more sentences in your original post. sb>What I am asking about, is sb> content. Looking for ideas... From people I presumed had more sb> experience with this than I do. People usually lead with the important stuff. And your lead was defensive. "I'm 38 and I can do what I want to." sb> Clearly, you don't like the name idea. I don't know you or your daughter. For all I know you could be a child molester. Maybe a picture of her and the words "Daddy, please don't" underneath? Maybe a picture of a crib with little, bloody sheets? Get it? > > I never argued semantics. Motivation, > > maybe. What's funny is that you wrote that. kt> > And if you've REALLY researched, you'll see my advice is sound. > sb> to your credit, after having a lot of fun with you, your advice is sb> sound. See, that didn't hurt. And here's a bone. What do you do together? Do you want it to be a tattoo you can add to later? An old regular had the feet print from her baby (that died) tattooed. I have a hand print on my shoulder. You have to decide if the image is something anyone who saw it would know what it means, or if it is significant to only you and her. For most of those, you don't need strangers. Kavin |

It's the typical name in the heart with the arrow going through it. There are 3 hearts, each a different color. The third was added a few years after the first two. The names are in no specific font, my artist hand-wrote them. Or freestyled or whatever you want to call it. I think the tattoo is beautiful, though simple. >* How do I avoid this looking like the name of my biker girlfriend? I don't know! I have been asked if the names were my girlfriend's names, as if I had 3 girlfriends. I don't know if the guy was trying to be funny, or what. I guess if you also had your daughter's photo tattooed under her name people would figure it out. Besides something that blatant, you'll just have to correct people. Or have "my daughter" tattooed above it with an arrow pointing to her name. >* How do I avoid this looking like a memorial tattoo? My daughter is >8, and alive and well. I really don't have any suggestions as to the location. I have a personal preference for names being on the upper arm. Marie |

Technically, it IS a memorial tattoo, no matter what. But, I am interested in what YOU consider to be a memorial tattoo. Kavin |
