Default Questions about my new tattoo

I got my first tattoo yesterday. It's about 6" x 4" on the side of my
calf.

I assume it's supposed to be sore for a while?

I've been washing it with soap and water, but I was so stoked when the
tattoo was finished that I forgot to buy the Tattoo Goo, and the place
is too far away to go back for it. So I did alot of Googling and
ended up buying some A+D ointment. Is this okay?

Finally, I'm used to doing 4 miles on the treadmill every day. Is it
okay for the calf muscles to flex where the tattoo is, or should I
wait?

By the way, Curt. Thanks for your kind responses to my questions in
the past. After the unbelievably rotten abuse in the last thread, I
quit reading this group.

My third tattoo is about 4" x 15 1/4" around my calf.

Mine was. And weepy. And the yellow was orange from the blood, I'm
guessing.

So did I.

Same here. No Goo.

Googling! An excellent choice of Internet actions. :o)

So did I.

Worked for me.

Although I wasn't using a treadmill, I'm certain I walked at least 4
miles every day.

As long as you keep the tattoo right with spare use of the A+D then I'd
say flexing as a result of moderate treadmill use will be of no ill
consequence.

Care to post pics of the new tattoo?

Best of luck with your aftercare.

And as a result, youll get tattoos as shitty looking as Curt's are.

V. Nice.

Yes I will. My domain and web host both expired over the past week
without me knowing, so I have to get that sorted out.

Thanks again...I think I'll hit the treadmill right now (even though
my calf is sore!) :)

BTW...the artist went way beyond my expectations. I couldn't love the
tattoo more.

Oh. This is what you were referring to. Cool.

Well, here you have the two camps or mindsets, imo, and since you seem
to enjoy neat divisions, I offer...

One side is the view that a newsgroup is a meeting place for people of
like minds - a group of social friends and associates. You meet and
talk about a variety of subjects many of which are unrelated to the
newsgroup name or topic.

On the other side is the view that newsgroups are a reference source or
an area on the Internet to visit when you have questions regarding a
specific subject.

I love RAB for both. I've attended one RABcon. I've swapped emails with
several RABbits. I post news, cartoons, and, yes, indulge in the
occasional argument or spelling/personality/etc. flame.

Years ago, iirc, someone said I tried to become a member of "the group"
too quickly and without benefit of lurking and then being accepted. Oh,
boo hoo.

Anyway, at one time, anyone who arrived who was not a member of the
core group would be alienated to a certain degree or a great degree
dependent on something or other. Mitch called it "unbelievably rotten
abuse" and I'm sure he's not alone in that assessment of the situation.

Get this, I won't name names, but one of the former core group actually
commended me via email (though years ago) for standing up to another
core group member. Alliances change, ebb, etc. People are people and
ever shall be. Some are jerks and some are nice. Some are both. This is
nothing new or novel, but you should know that name calling, imo, is an
indicator of something lacking in you and not in any so-called sock
puppet.

Yeah, I've seen that email. The feeling didn't last very long...in
fact, not one second beyond the point where you proved yourself to be
a worthless motherfucker who had utterly no regard whatsoever for
the opinions of your superiors---or anyone at all really.

And Curt, theres a very specific reason I resort to ad hominem attacks
(thats what its called when you call someone names). They're ultimately
fashioned for my own benefit.

I just mentioned a (yes unverified, but still) core group member versus
core group member disagreement. Of course they were cowardly and never
came forward to talk their smack - only in an email to me. Funny, that.

Nevertheless, you say the OP's tattoos will be "as shitty looking as"
mine, eh?

The tattoo I mentioned was my C&H. You think that's shitty looking?
What does your opinion merit? Respect? Concern? Not by my way of
thinking.

And I find some... what was the word you used? Amusement! I find some
amusement in the fact that one RABbit who's opinion many believe does
merit respect and concern thought my tattoo was... okay.

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.a...ecba0b7c2a9bb8
aka http://tinyurl.com/jzfst

Probably better than okay, actually. Because, hey, by my calculations
well executed + good show - dumb = okay (at worst).

Hth.

And even after all these years, your pathetic ass doesn't get it at all.

"core group" members largely disliked eachother, at least since the
Lani/Greenbleat days. But they also largely *respected* eachother.

That's the part that you never got.

Thats right, you have some of the worst tattoos I've ever seen.

She knows Ive always disagreed with her on the tattoo-taste thing.
She's got a much more forgiving eye than I do. But I think I'm just
unlucky enough to have been spoiled from the beginning by being
constantly around the best tattoo artists on the planet and their
work.
