Hi guys,
I'm sure that at some point this subject has been covered before, but I just found this group, and not sure how to search the archives (if there is one). So please forgive me in advance, and if there are archives, please point me to where I'll gladly go through the information. I have a 20" scar that I am going to be covering with a tattoo that was drawn for me by an artist. The tattoo artist is in NJ, Keyport (FatKat). I've seen their work, and picked the tattoo artist who's work I fell in love with. It will take him approximately 4 hours to complete the coverage. My concern is however, how will the tattoo take to the scar. The scar is over 3 years old and I'm fair skinned, it's flat and is a straight line. Have any of you experienced scar coverage and if so what is your experience. Any feedback is greatly welcomed. TattooedGrl! |

Any feedback is greatly welcomed. I have seen scars tattooed over and they usually aren't a problem, as long as they're older and not raised too much. They can't be completely hidden(usually) but can be worked into the design. Marie |

Shut up, idiot. Thanks. Queen, when you say "questions they could easily answer themselves," does that include what to do with tattoos on earlobes? Because, you know, that was something you could have probably figured out on your own, right? Whatever. I was glad to assist and didn't see the need to tell you to effing google it (your typically lisheep response). http://groups.google.com/group/rec.a...rch+this+group aka http://tinyurl.com/5atz9p -- |

Duh, I guess "I have a 20" scar that I am going to be covering with a tattoo" indicates that you're attempting to, yeah, COVER the scar. I have scars on my left forearm and a pretty decent one on my right forearm as well. Alcohol am sto0pit. (Or at least it helps bring out the seriously stupid in some of us.) Anyway, I've often thought of creating a tattoo where the scar would be the focus rather than act as camouflage. I'm a comic book fan, so something like Wolverine on my forearm tearing into it. If I was more of a Universal monsters fan then a portrait of Frankenstein strategically placed over/around the scar on my right forearm so it would appear on his forehead or neck? That'd be rockin'. Okay, okay, dork alert! -- |

There will be coverage of the scar, there will also be parts where the vine will go around the tattoo and *incorporate the scar* into the artwork. > I have scars on my left forearm and a pretty decent one on my right > forearm as well. I found a bit more information in the links previously provided here as well as another group which was able to provide further information. Thank you again |
