Hi Everyone! Newbie here!
I just got my third tattoo 4 days ago. A beautiful custom flower on my shin, with the names of my two sons on either side. The names don't bother me a bit...not even aware of them, however the flower, which is centered on my shin, just an inch or two above my foot, is very painful, and the area around it is red. I don't think it's infected, as the red area is not warm or hot, but *WOW* does it hurt. Is this normal? How long do you think it will take to stop hurting? I've been using the "Ink Fixx" they gave me at the shop, keeping it moist. No scabs or anything....just pain. Thanks... Rebada |

Stop using "ink fix", because its a rip-off and whoever gave it to you is an idiot. Lubriderm is fine. And yeah, I've had some tattoos hurt like that. -----yttrx -- http://www.yttrx.net |

Do not use the inkfix......!!!
If it still hurts alot after 4 days keep in mind that you may have rubbed it while sleeping, and it may become infected.....try a light washing with anti bacterial soap and then a light coating of the some good quality skin lotion...I try to have some around with vitamin E, it seems to work well....Sscorp |

I used GoldBond Healing lotion last night and this morning, and the Tat felt much better! I used the Ink Fixx after work, and it feels all tight and sore again. I guess I'll chuck that stuff! No wonder they give out free! My only other concern is that my foot is very puffy, but I'm going to guess that it is because of the tattoo, and a part of the healing process, since so much is happening in that area. My last tattoo was in 1991, and on my shoulder where I can't generally see it, so I don't recall exactly what happens as they heal. Thanks again......Rebada |

NOT putting anything on a tattoo is just fine. I only used A&D for comfort- it helped with the itching. Other than that it's ok to leave the tattoo alone. Marie |

And triple antibiotic ointment is NOT ok. How long have you been tattooing? Where do you get your info? Marie |
