Dear God, you can't even write your own sentences! How could you think
to do your own piercings!!!!??? ;o)

Seriously, though, you won't die. A guess based on countless - another
guess on the 'countless' concept - who've self-pierced before you.

I did my own piercing, albeit unintentionally. Pushed new jewelry
through a cartilage piercing. Placed the jewelry at the entry hole and,
surprisingly, made a *new* exit hole. Hmm. Not what I had in mind.

Knew a guy who pushed safety pins through his eyebrow "for fun". Ouch.
No.

There was a student while I was student teaching who used a Claire's or
Piercing Pagoda stud to create a self-pierced labret. Impressive. I
couldn't do it.

I know of at least one person who did their own septum using an X-acto
knife.

And, naturally, I've heard of people doing their own lobes using a
needle and a potato or ice... or both.

Oh, yeah...

The content of this post is provided for general information only and
is not intended in any way to substitute for professional medical (or
"modificational" heh) advice. This post is not intended to be relied
upon for medical diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of your
physician or other qualified health professional - or piercer or other
qualified modification professional - if you have any concern about
your health - or your piercings. To obtain medical advice, patients
must consult a physician one-on-one. Likewise, to obtain modification
advice, people should consult a piercer, brander, scarification artist
or tattooist one-on-one. Individuals are encouraged to develop a
professional relationship with physicians and other medical
practitioners (or, yes, piercers, tattooists, et al.) and regularly
consult with them and seek their advice. :o)
