how so?

psst, really ought to be careful when making a claim like that on
a public forum. remember, it's not libel if it's true.

I think it might be the KA backpiece shown on that page...

In what way is it a rip-off?

Did TQOCAJ design it?

You can tell exactly what it is, because of the circle around the cross
on his wrist. That's a pretty well known shot of KA's back.

I don't know if that picture has a copyright on it, shannon probably
would though.

Allsouls tattoo is a shithouse anyhow, though I think they have some
music industry contacts, which could possibly explain the use of that
pic, but probably not.

As far as being careful making claims on public forums?

If I were the QOCAJ, I wouldn't give a shit about slagging a tattooist
or piercer (or any other practioner in the "scene"). The very few that
actually have the nuts to level a lawsuit never have the money to
win. Believe me on that one.

If I'm not mistaken, not only is it his backpiece, it's his *back*.
Since he's dead, I don't suppose he's gonna sue them.

It's remotely possible that they contacted the photographer and asked
to use the image. Somehow, I doubt it.

So they most likely ripped off the image from a dead person. Pretty
low.

The use of an image completely unrelated to the shop or the show
they're promoting (his artist isn't in the list), is at the very least
dishonest.

Scumbags.

You're implying they might even know KA is dead. That would be
research. I doubt they did any.

Hey it's on the Web. It's everyone's.

It's apparently an "art" show rather than a tattoo show, but yeah: the
photo credit on the original ( http://www.nootrope.net/koi/index7.html )
is either Chris O'Donnell or Keith, and I don't see either one of them
listed there.

It's misleading at best, and a total rip-off at worst.

fair enough. i scanned a few images but didn't see anything
noteworthy. must've missed that one. viewing myspace in lynx is the only

yeah, i'm sure they don't care; what i said was more of a general
statement. it's always good form to back up your claims.

I'll have to try it.

I think MySpace is the internet version of a trailer park smack in the
middle of a ghetto. Between the noisy backgrounds, cloying cursors, and
animated gifs and videos of themselves trying to look
sexy/gangsta/badass, looking at most of the home pages there makes my
eyes bleed. And then the friggin music... Arrgh.
