Pop princess Britney Spears treated herself to an early Christmas
present this year - a new tattoo.

Tuesday night in Studio City tattoo parlor, Britney was accompanied by
her little sister Jamie Lynn and an unidentified friend who watched as
a star was inked on Britney's right hand. Dressed in a furry, winter
coat, the singer turned up at Devil Doll Tattoo & Body Piercing around
10 PM to have the item put on.

Inside, the superstar had a small star inked on her right hand,
according to www.contactmusic.com report. According to an eyewitness
she was having hers altered into something less embarrassing.

The singer, who has two young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, was
seen sporting disheveled hair and constantly adjusting her wayward bra
strap while she was getting the new tattoo. According to website,
www.TMZ.com, Spears was followed by a pack of paparazzi and set off a
media frenzy at the tattoo parlour.

Speculators say the new tat is to celebrate Brit's newfound freedom in
the wake of her split from Kevin Federline.

Britney however is no stranger to the world of tattoos. She has a fairy
on her lower back, symbols on the back of her neck and a small design
on her right, lower hip.

The TOXIC star, 25, recently apologised to fans for her hard-partying
ways, but has not cut down on her nights out on the town. From:
