Par Vantage is spilling 'Ink' for horror film spec

By Tatiana Siegel

April 20, 2007

Paramount Vantage is venturing into the world of horror.

The specialty division of Paramount Pictures has acquired Harris
Wilkinson's horror spec "Ink" for low- against mid-six figures.

Set in the world of tattoo artistry, the high-concept story line is
being kept under wraps. But Vantage head of production and
acquisitions Amy Israel promised an "original take on the horror genre
(that) is hugely exciting."

The script is out to directors.

Alan and Peter Riche ("Starsky & Hutch") of Riche Prods. will produce
in association with Mandalay Independent Pictures, which is headed by
"Crash" producer Cathy Schulman./copy and paste from

About time Paramount did another tattoo-related flick.

Hmm. Otoh, Paramount's One-Eyed Jacks - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055257/
- on the screens a few years later, had some tattoo-related action as
well.

And, muuuuch more current, but not Paramount whatsoever, Harsh Times -
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433387/ - has some tattooed characters in
its fantastic cast. Definitely worth a rental, imo.

D'OH! I overlooked the obvious. Thanks.

Deniro was in a remake of something, too. (Googles)

Oops, De Niro.

Cape Fear - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101540/

[...]

Just rented Sublime, a psychological thriller/horror flick/political
statement with a bit of tattooed imagery involved. The nurse and the
film's boogie man (played by Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs of Welcome Back
Kotter fame) both display a tree of life as does the DVD dust cover
image (of the nurse's back).

Another flick worth a rental, albeit a bit drawn out in some segments,
imo.
