Lawsuit filed over typos in tattoo
ST. LOUIS, May 4 (UPI) - A St. Louis Cardinals fan has filed a lawsuit against a tattoo parlor for typos in a design meant to honor the Cards' 2006 World Series win. Jason Harris of Ferguson was so enthusiastic he went to the House of Ink the day after the Cardinals won their final game against the Detroit Tigers. He wanted a tattoo that said "St. Louis Cardinals, World Series Champions, 2006." Harris's lawyer told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the tattoo artist misspelled "world" as "worlb" and made the year 2000, when the New York Yankees won the Series. "This is embarrassing," Edward Luby said. "He has a tattoo across his back that's spelled wrong. This is not a laughing matter." Harris is seeking $25,000 in damages. Thomas Baxter, owner of House of Ink, said he has offered a refund and free correction of the erroneous tattoo. "I want to do right by the guy," Baxter said. "I don't know why he's taking things this far." /copy and paste from http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Quirks/...pos_in_tattoo/ heh Okay, I guess there's almost an excuse that the tattoo recipient would miss the typo on his back. I mean even if he looked in a mirror, it might be easy to miss the b for a d or a d for a b as they're mirror images, right? And the 2000? Well, an 0 for a 6 is not something that would be as glaring a discrepancy as mistaking a 3 for a 7, right? A lesson is to be found here for anyone considering a text or numerical tattoo, obviously.
