For a long time now I've been toying with the idea of getting a scrotal
piercing (or two), but there's just one thing that stops me and I'm hoping you guys can help me out with some advice. The scrotum is an airtight, watertight container; completely sealed off from the outside world. So surely making a hole in it and exposing it to the elements is not a good idea?! All the advice I've manged to find, from online sources and piercers, says that it's very safe, and rarely causes any kind of problem. But still the thought of making a hole in something that nature designed to be sealed worries me. Does water get in through the hole when you bathe or go swimming? And if so what happens to that water? I have this horrible mental image of a sackful of stagnant water in my scrotum going rancid and stinking like hell! :( I really, really want to get this piercing but my brain keeps arguing against it. Can any of you guys reassure me (or otherwise) abut this piercing? Thanks, DJ |

They are only put in the outer layers of skin. 2.The sac is not airtight/watertight, but is connected to the rest of the body. In saline injection (into the sac), saline eventually flows back into the body and in vacuum pumping, fluid flows in from the body and back out again, so any enlargement is mostly temporary. speedy2 (GB) |
