Hi all,
I tend to be a lurker rather than a poster on this group so you probably haven't heard of me but I'm quite excited as I'm due to get a sleeve done at the end of this month. It's going to be a pair of Koi carp in the Japanese style. I've actually been wanting to have one done for quite a few years now but never really plucked up the courage to go and have it done. It's being done by Butch from Ultimate Skin Tattoo in Leeds (http://www.ultimateskintattoo.com) and we hope to get it done in three sittings (outline, Shading and colour) so I would presume it will finally be finished in January. The first session for the outline will be October and I'm quite looking forward to it in a nervous way (although my wife has reservations about me having it done!) My last tattoos were done about 20 odd years ago and there was no after care as such; you just let it heal and the scabs came off and it was done. What's the best kind of aftercare for tattoos these days? If anyone is interested, I'd like to post a link of the results on the group. Is that okay? A good place to start for aftercare would be: http://compunction.org/healing.txt Progress pictures as well as final results would be interesting and welcome but remember that this newsgroup won't accept posted pics, just links. Welcome to UPB Niall -- Some gal would giggle and I'd get red And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head, I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named "Sue." |

Have a chat to your tattooist and they may well have their own ideas/preferences. Enjoy the new ink and welcome to UPB! Rusty. |

After 5 days, you're done. |

If anyone will know it should be the tattooist. > Enjoy the new ink and welcome to UPB! Thanks :o) Michael -- Michael Chappell chappell@marinac.f2s.com |

If so, spill the beans... Bad form but: "This ointment contains a mixture of beeswax, olive oil, and sunflower oil and calendula oil with a unique blend of essential oils, lavender, tea tree and Niaouli thus providing natural antiseptic, bactericidal and analgesic properties." Seems like a reasonable concoction. Many of those items have been discussed in this group over the years. £5 for 20g seems excessive - I'd be tempted to blag a studio jar. -- Dnc B12, ZZR11 A6 2.5TDi V6 Quattro Sport MIB#26 two#54(soiled) UKRMMA#26 BOTAFOT#153 X-FOT#003 |

If so, spill the beans... I don't know what your Latin is like but I'll copy and spell out what it says on the bottom of the jar thus: <Goes to get jar> Arse. I peeled the label off ;) Re: your other post: I wouldn't bother getting it for those prices, my mate/artist that did my Buddah[1] sells the small ones at 3 quid a pop which sounds expensive but it goes a long way - a lot longer that Bepanthen, anyway. [1] He's done other work on me but the Buddah's the only way I know you'll know who I mean |

Although for the money you're spending with him, it might be nice if he chucked you a tub every now and again. OB Topic: I'm starting to get the itch, finally, after almost 4 years. -- Dnc |

In fact, the only name that springs to mind is "Hanky Panky"'s studio in Amsterdam, but only because it's 'well know' rather than because they're good. I'll let you know what my research digs up. -- Dnc |

That's of course if you like his style! He made a comment about getting more people flying over from the States to get work than us lot making a relatively short train journey... most strange! He's a lovely guy and a great tattooist and I'll definitely be going over to Belgium in the future. C |

Smells a bit yeasty but really keeps the scabbing down. > If anyone is interested, I'd like to post a link of the results on the > group. Is that okay? Yes! Looking forward to seeing the progress. :) cx |
