In the old days it was more important to know why you were getting pierced as opposed to how many you could get or if you had more than somebody else. That might make me sound old fashioned - I'm not. A good piercer has spent time and effort being trained and their pay should reflect this. In Brighton where I also live, I can appreciate that shop rents are high - these overheads need to be covered. However, you could try a studio with an apprentice, they often reduce rates so they can practice on you. Personally, if I had a dick, I wouldn't want someone playing target practice on it. Does anyone here want to divulge how much they paid years ago for piercings? I'm sure some of mine cost the same price as you're quoting, and that was 10 years ago. I doubt there is, but was anyone reading this pierced by Mr Sebastian? If you aren't prepared to pay for a good service, maybe you should think whether getting those trophies are as important to you as you think they are. Good luck with finding a qualified, competent and cheap piercer. Claire |

But that IS a long time ago - like some 35 years ago.... Anaesthetics added a bit too.......... Alan did both my nips, and then later, my PA. He was brilliant - patient, gentle, re-assuring, and very professional, taking great care with sterilising etc. While waiting for an anaesthetic to set in, I looked at his fantastic set of albums illustrating his tattoo work, also some showing the antics of his "play" group - the one that was infiltrated by a police officer, resulting in the infamous Spanner case and trials. He was very dismissive of a certain piercer, who had no studio, but travelled to client's homes, and always used a freezer spray, sometimes with unfortunate results. Alan said that this person was getting the whole trade a bad name. He, Alan, was registered with Camden Council from a very early stage. Sadly, he died before the Spanner case was over. As I got PFIQ, I then decided to do my frenum myself, using a surface anaesthetic (Lignocaine?) and then a quick burst of freezer spray, just enough to dull things, not freeze them, and I used a hypo needle of about 2mm diameter which I 4-facet sharpened under a strong magnifier, from a blunt ended version I had.
